Forgotten Realms (1989)

In 1989, DC Comics began publishing the Forgotten Realms comic series, written by Jeff Grubb. Each issue contained twenty-six pages, illustrated primarily by Rags Morales and Dave Simons. The 19 issues produced by Morales were his first professional works. Tom Raney illustrated issues #17 and #20. Elliot S. Maggin served as an editor for DC from 1989 to 1991 and oversaw the licensed TSR titles, including Forgotten Realms. Twenty-five issues were published in total, with the last being released in 1991.

Dungeons and Dragons – Forgotten Realms (2012)

Forgotten Realms is an ongoing series that released five issues between May and November 2012; it was based on original characters in the Forgotten Realms setting. It was written by Ed Greenwood, creator of the setting, with art by Lee Ferguson and Sal Buscema.

Dungeons & Dragons: Cutter (2013)

Dungeons & Dragons: Cutter is a collection of five comic issues centering on Tos’un and Doum’wielle Armgo and the sentient sword Khazid’hea; it takes place just prior to Night of the Hunter. The story was written by R.A. Salvatore and his son Geno Salvatore. The majority of the art was done by David Baldeon, with David Garcia Cruz (colors) and Neil Uyetake (letters). Steve Ellis contributed cover art.
