The Top Cow comics are primarily based on the same continuity as the games by Core Design, in which Lara’s plane crashes when she is twenty-one years old (rather than the latter games by Crystal Dynamics, the plane crash happening when she was only nine years old), but the exact details are changed. In the comic, Lara is accompanied by both her parents and her fiancé, the plane trip taken to celebrate her impending marriage (in the game series, Lara’s plane is chartered to take on a skiing holiday). Writers Dan Jurgens, John Nay Riber, and James Bonny worked on the series, which also featured the art of Andy Park, Michael Turner, Billy Tan, and Adam Hughes, amongst others.
The series is set in a matriarchal “alternate Asia” riven by war between the Arcanics, magical creatures who sometimes can pass for human, and the Cumea, an order of sorceresses who consume Arcanics to fuel their power. The main character, Maika, is an Arcanic who is set on learning more about, and avenging, her dead mother. According to Liu, among the series’s themes are the inner strength required to withstand constant dehumanization, as well as the power of friendship among women.
The first, triple-sized issue of Monstress received critical praise. Writing for Kotaku, Evan Narcisse called it “a gorgeous comic book about racism, war and slavery”, noting the intricate detail of Takeda’s manga-inspired art. In the A.V. Club, Caitlin Rosberg described the leading characters, all women, as “deeply flawed and showing layers of nuanced characterization that you don’t often see in comic books”, and appreciated the series’s “sense of in-between-ness—(…) neither traditionally Western nor manga, paced like a novel but drawn like a comic”.
The Witchblade comic was adapted into a television series in 2001, as well as an anime, a manga and a novel in 2006. A feature film based on the comic, titled The Witchblade, was announced for a 2009 release, but was never produced. A second Witchblade television series was announced for development in January 2017.
The Savage Dragon features the adventures of a superheroicpolice officer named the Dragon. The character first appeared as the Dragon in Graphic Fantasy #1 (June 1982) and first appeared as the “Savage Dragon” in Megaton #3 (February 1986).
The Dragon is a large, finned, green-skinned humanoid whose powers include super-strength and an advanced healing factor. He is also an amnesiac: his earliest memory is awakening in a burning field in Chicago, Illinois. Thus, for most of the series, the origins of his powers and appearance are a mystery to readers. At the beginning of the series, he becomes a police officer and battles the mutant criminal “superfreaks” that terrorize Chicago.
The Bowmans are VAMPIRES who have quietly run the local barbecue joint in their small town for years, living off cow’s blood. Their peaceful coexistence ends as generations of hate, fear, and bad blood bubble to the surface–making it impossible to separate man from monster!
Set in a world where all chicken and other bird meats are illegal, after a catastrophic outbreak of the bird flu that killed 23 million Americans, Chew centers on Tony Chu, a police detective who is a Cibopath (pronounced “see-bo-path”). Tony becomes a vice cop with the Philadelphia Police Department, and when on assignment, trying to find people smuggling chicken, he enters a black market chicken restaurant on invitation from the U.S. FDA. He has a bowl of chicken soup only to find he gets a psychic impression of the cook killing people and putting them into the soup. He goes to bust the cook, only for the cook to kill himself outside the restaurant. Chu eats a bite of the cooks tongue to find out the names of the rest of the victims. He is fired from his job with the Philadelphia PD and gets hired on to the FDA by an agent named Mason Savoy, who is also a cibopath.
In the confines of a psychiatric hospital a suicidal young woman meets an enigmatic stranger who believes he is an angelic presence not of this earth gifted with the powers of GOD. Is she being seduced into a cult … or is she bearing witness to a miracle?

The Walking Dead is an ongoing black-and-white comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. It focuses on Rick Grimes, a deputy who is shot in the line of duty and awakens from a coma in the zombie apocalypse that placed Georgia under quarantine. He finds his wife and son, and meets other survivors, gradually taking on the role of leader among a group and later a community as Rick and his group try to survive the zombie apocalypse.

The first four issues of the series focuses on Daniel Llanso. His story is set some 400 years in the future in an apocalyptic world some time after Armageddon where the Devil Phlegethonyarre has his servant, Abaddon the Angel of the Bottomless Pit and their Undead Army of Nightmares (Necro-Soldiers, Zombies powered by Hell’s Darklight) dominate and hunt all humans.
The rest of the Curse of the Spawn issues focuses around related characters from the main Spawn series, like Jessica Priest, Sam and Twitch, The Angel Abdiel and Angela, Hatchet a Zombie Spawn, and other tales of other hell throughout the comics timelines.
Some of these stories include; An angel named Abdiel sent to spy on Malebolgia is tricked and banished from heaven, A Greek boy named Raenius, who was killed by Zeus (the god) and resurrected as a Hellspawn, who kills Zeus with the gorgonMedusa by his side.

From 2002 to 2005 Image Comics and MVCreations published several series of comics and one-shots that mirrored tales of the 2002 Mike Young Productions show; the comic series elaborated and added to the mythos by introducing characters that never made it in after the 39 episodes of the television series. The first issues were seen in the summer of 2002 in the form of special promotional/preview issues, with three mini-series continuing on after; ‘The Shards of Darkness’ in fall 2002, followed by ‘Dark Reflections’ and ‘Rise of the Snake Men’ in 2003. After delving into the back-stories of Skeletor’s henchmen Beast-Man, Mer-Man, Trap-Jaw and Tri-Klops in a four issue ‘Icons of Evil’ series, a short-lived ongoing series, solely produced by MVC, continued on for eight issues in 2004. Along with these, a handful of special or ‘pack-in’ one-shots and trade paperback collected volumes were also produced.
