Hawkman V5 (2018)

A new Hawkman series was announced in March 2018 with writing by Robert Venditti and art by Bryan Hitch, the book will explore Carter Hall’s experiences after the events that happened during Dark Nights: Metal, alongside his relationship to Hawkgirl.

The first arc of the comic deals with Hall, believing there are gaps in the memories of his past lives, recovering a mystical artefact that allows him to unlock all his memories. He becomes aware of multiple previous incarnations of himself, which include Katar Hol, and also has a vision of Earth in the future, destroyed by gigantic winged creatures (later revealed to be spaceships) known as the Deathbringers. Hall deduces that his first human incarnation, Prince Khufu, had the same vision, resulting in a winged figure becoming an important symbol throughout all his lives.

Carter Hall also discovers that, as well as reincarnating over time on Earth, he has also lived multiple lives on alien worlds, and at least once two or more of his reincarnations have existed simultaneously.

Sabrina’s Holiday Spectacular (1994)

Debuting in 1993 as Sabrina’s Halloween Spook-tacular, the series continued as the Holiday Spectacular in 1994 and 1995. The stories in the oversized issues are all holiday-themed.

Thor V2 (1998)

After “Hereos Reborn”, Thor and several members of the Avengers battle the Destroyer. Thor is saved by an enigmatic being called Marnot, who binds the life-force of a mortal called Jake Olson to the thunder god. Thor enters into a war with the Dark Gods with Marnot revealed to be Hescamer, one of Odin’s ravens; and battles the returning Enchanters Three.

Bart Simpson’s, Treehouse of Horror (1995)

Bart Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror is an annual horror series. It has been published around September–October, for Halloween, every year since 1995. It takes its name from the annual “Treehouse of Horror” episodes of The Simpsons. Like the episodes, the comic book always feature three stories in each issue. The stories are written and illustrated by some of the most famous people in the comic book business. Over the last dozen years, the series has had stories created by such industry stars as Garth Ennis(Preacher), Dan Decarlo (Archie Comics), Evan Dorkin (Milk and Cheese), Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan (Blade, Archie Comics, Tomb of Dracula) and rock stars Gene Simmons (Kiss), Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie as well as (humorously) Pat Boone. The stories usually parody modern horror stories and films, and feature distorted versions of the people of Springfield.

I Feel Sick (1999)

I Feel Sick is a comic book created by artist Jhonen Vasquez, with colors by Rosearik Rikki Simons. Published in August 1999 through May 2000, it is a spin-off of Vasquez’s comic book series Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. I Feel Sick revolves around Devi D., who first appeared in Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Devi, a graphic designer, must face the supernatural and psychological forces that drove Johnny C. to lunacy.

Published by Slave Labor Graphics, it was originally intended as a single paperback but was split into two issues. Vasquez said the creation process of I Feel Sick was cathartic. Devi’s problems working for Nerve Publishing and neglecting her own work are reminiscent of the pressure Vasquez experienced working on Invader Zim, an animated television series he created for Nickelodeon.

Woody Woodpecker (1953)

Walter Lantz Woody Woodpecker became an independent comic book (starting with issue #16 to reflect the earlier appearances in Four Color) in Dec. 1952-Jan. 1953. It ran for 201 issues, published by Dell and then Western Publishing (Whitman/Gold Key), lasting until 1983.

The Punisher: The End (2004)

The Punisher: The End is a one-shot title published by Marvel Comics under the MAX imprint as part of their The End series. The story focuses on the Punisher‘s final days in a post-apocalyptic future. The date of the events are described in the opening page of the comic in one word, “soon”.

Dungeons and Dragons – Forgotten Realms (2012)

Forgotten Realms is an ongoing series that released five issues between May and November 2012; it was based on original characters in the Forgotten Realms setting. It was written by Ed Greenwood, creator of the setting, with art by Lee Ferguson and Sal Buscema.
