They crash-land on a small planet, but it is soon apparent that they have not entirely escaped the Nova Maru’s dreadful cargo. Dave Gibbons‘ tale is fully realized by artists Mike Mignola and Kevin Nowlan.
Aliens is a line of several comic books set in the fictional universe of the Alien films published by Dark Horse Comics starting in 1988. The stories often feature the company Weyland-Yutani and the United States Colonial Marines. Originally intended as a sequel to James Cameron‘s 1986 film Aliens, the first mini-series features the characters of Rebecca “Newt” Jorden and Corporal Dwayne Hicks. Later series also included the further adventures of Ellen Ripley, with other stories being completely unique to the Alien universe and are often used to explore other aspects of the species, such as their sociology and biology, and also tying into Dark Horse Comics’ Predator and Aliens vs. Predator lines.
This series sees an attempted counter-expedition to the Xenomorph home planet following the events of Aliens: Female War, orchestrated by a billionaire for dubious reasons. The series was preceded by the short story prequel Aliens: The Alien.
Aliens: Fire and Stone formed the Aliens component of Dark Horse’s franchise-crossing Fire and Stone event in 2014/2015, and was released in conjunction with Prometheus: Fire and Stone, Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone and Predator: Fire and Stone. The four series all share an interconnected story.
